design, development and music intelligence

Picture me big time

Posted at Monday, January 15th, 2007

It is hard to believe how fast time goes by, just over a year ago I had this great new years resolution that i was going to begin a website that showcased my skills and also began a conversation with the masses about music, web design, development and other technology. Here we are a year later and I have finally gotten close. It isn’t final, but I will be hard at work to finish the styling so perhaps one day it can hold its own next to the web heros out there

This resolution came from reading a book. Web Design Solutions by Jeffrey Zeldman. Before this book, you could define my career as the guy who made the psd for the developers to integrate. Books don’t generally change your life, this one did, it caused a career change and an new found love for he web and web standards.

If you have clicked around in the past year (which would surprise me) you will have noticed that this site has gone through numerous designs iterations, blog engines. The person behind it has gone through two or three jobs, a career change, a change back to the original career and everything in between

That gets us to today, the first official post, we won’t call it a comeback and it isn’t worthy of the title “launch”. This new site isn’t going to take you to any place you haven’t already been, it might show you a couple new things, but it will be fun, a good exercise and a way to further my skills and share some knowledge in the meantime.

PS. I am a huge Guided by Voices fan, so you will just have to deal.
