I haven’t used Pownce for a while now, twitter had taken its place. The other day on the walk to work I started to think of a way that Pownce could also be used in my daily routine. The idea that came from that walk is the “Beloved Echo” (Formally known as the abysmal named “The Daily Tape”). Essentially it will be me sending songs to all the people that follow me. Back in the day before the design/development bug took hold, this is what I did. I created monthly mix cd’s and sent them to all my friends. There wasn’t much thought put into the process, and great resources like woxy, good hodgkins, 3hive, pitchfork, magnet, the big takeover, glorious noise and many others sites provided the inspiration for what made it and what didn’t.

Time to do it a little different and change it up. It is going to be very haphazard and will really just consist of me listening to music all day and sharing the gems that show up. Now here is the key, all I ask is if you like the track and want to make it your own, do your best to support the artist that created it. Pick up their album on itunes/amazon, buy a shirt on their site or just go see them in concert. Perhaps we will have some other avenues in the future to do so, for right now this is all we got.

My musical tastes are very eclectic and I am guessing you won’t like everything I post. Hang in there though because when that gem of a track hits, it will be stuck in your head all day. That is the “beloved echo”.

Friend me/Follow me, whatever the vernacular is on Pownce and lets get started!
